Graduated in Journalism and Master in Theater, she was a founder and member of Intrépida Trupe for 13 years. Her training includes ballet techniques, contemporary dance, circus arts, Body-MindCentering (BMC), theater, and performance. Since 1997 she has directed Cia Dani Lima, with which she has staged dozens of shows and received several awards. Her most recent works - 100 gestos and Pequena Coleção de todas as coisas, Emoticon were highlighted by the critics as among the best in dance in Rio de Janeiro. She published the books "Corpo, política e discurso na dança de Lia Rodrigues" and "Gesto: Práticas e Discursos". Since 2016 she has been a lecturer at the Performing Arts Course at PUC-RJ. She gives lectures, debates and workshops and writes articles for publications specialized in performing arts/dance. She works as a body trainer for theater, cinema and TV. She was a choreographer for the TV Globo show Amor & Sexo between 2012 and 2018. 

Her artistic work investigates the body confronted with itself and with otherness and the processes of meaning production from sensations, perceptions and gestures.
