VA-BENE  ELIKEM FIATSI  (Ghana)

Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi [crazinisT artisT] was born in 1981 in Ho/Ghana, works and lives in Kumasi.
A multidisciplinary artist, he founded and directs the international residency of artists in performance (pIAR), which aims to promote exchange between local and international artists, activists, researchers, curators and thinkers. 

As an artist, Va-Bene investigates gender stereotypes, sexual stigma and their consequences for marginalized groups or individuals. With rituals and a fluid persona in terms of gender, Va-Bene employs her own body as a thought-provoking tool in performances, photography, video and installations, confronting issues such as disenfranchisement, social justice, violence, objectification and more.
