COMMUNICATION AND AUDIENCES IN THE PERFORMING ARTS: COURSES FOR A NEW SCENE

The coronavirus crisis highlighted several issues that can still be better worked on in the cultural sector. Among them, the development of actions in the online environment and the processes of communication and relations with the public, two bases that are increasingly fundamental for thinking about the sustainability of any area, project or idea. The course intends to offer participants a systemic look that encompasses several dimensions related to communication strategies, considering that these dynamics have been increasingly impacted by digital media.
The new coronavirus pandemic and the impacts it brings (and could still bring) to culture and the performing arts will also be addressed. Not in the sense of trying to predict the future, but of understanding, based on the analysis of information and trends that we already have, what possible scenarios could be designed for the coming time, in the context of quarantine and its aftermath.
Module 1: the impacts of the digital age on culture
The reconfigurations in the productive chains of culture and the changes in the behavior and consumption habits of the public.
Module 2: consumption and access
Cultural consumption in Brazil. Access to culture: gaps and challenges.
Module 3: Designing the Experience for Audiences
Factors that interfere in the processes of generating positive experiences for audiences. Means to identify audience profiles.
Module 4: communication of cultural actions
Communication x dissemination. Branding (brand management) in the cultural area. Humanization and storytelling as connecting tools.
Module 5: Possible Post-quarantine Scenarios
Behavior, consumption and technology trends that are already being designed and could impact the cultural sector. How to think about publics and services in a scenario of uncertain futures.
FOR WHOM THE COURSE IS INTENDED
People who work in the performing arts, more specifically with theater, dance and performance (such as artistes, producers, managers, members of collectives or members of teams of cultural spaces/institutions).
HOW WILL THE COURSE BE
Each module will have the following structure:
1 - A week before the online meeting, the respective material will be made available, which may be composed of videos, texts and reading instructions or videos available for free on the internet. There will also be proposals for reflections made by the developer.
2 - A weekly online meeting will be held on the Zoom platform, where the developer will discuss with the class the theme of the module and the materials previously sent (for those who are not yet familiarized with the system, an email will be sent later with the instructions access).
3 - Each participant will have a mentoring session with producer Gabi Gonçalves, at times that will be agreed during the course.
In other words, it is essential that each participant commits to setting aside time each week to access the module's material. We estimate that this total time can vary between 2:00 and 4:00, depending on the materials and personal dynamics of each one.
Written materials will be made available for download. The videos for each module will be available for review up to one month after the end of the course.

As the number of places is restricted (20 places), there will be a selection, having as an essential criterion to form a diverse class in aspects. such as age group, geographic location, race/ethnicity, gender identity and profile of artistic/cultural work developed.
The list of selected people and alternates will be posted on this page on 21.05. On the same date, the selected people will receive an email and must confirm their presence in order to have their place reserved.
The Tracked Body will issue a certificate of participation for those who have 100% presence in online dating.
